Because of the consistent financial and material support to the orphanages in Russia, the Duma in Tomsk voted to award Rev. Tom Clark the medal of Mercy and Caring (Charity or Philanthropy).In a meeting room full of television and newspaper reporters, dignitaries, friends, elected officials, mission team members, orphanage directors and Russian Methodist pastors and friends, Rev. Clark was awarded the medal. Tomsk officials were also going to display Rev. Clark’s picture on a billboard just outside the Duma beginning on January 11th. The medal and certificate were accepted by Rev. Clark on behalf of those who have supported the work of West Virginia United Methodist Volunteers In Mission in Russia since 1996.
